About Us

Sparking Imagination for Responsible AI & Health

The Foundation for Artificial Intelligence & Health (FAIH) is a
501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to inspire the adoption of responsible AI for health by sparking imagination, advancing literacy, and fostering community. We’re an industry-led organization that helps others learn digital literacy and understand how to balance principles of responsibility with opportunity.

What We Do

At FAIH we bring diverse, cross-industry stakeholders together to realize the potential of AI for global health. We work on the gaps that the health and technology industries identify through structured programs, improve digital literacy in universities and our regional events, and participate in other nonprofits’ workgroups.

Our 2024 in Review

  1. We interviewed over 400 industry leaders in technology or health organizations to learn about the current needs and opportunities, translating those into our 2025 Programs.
  2. We held 10 discussion groups on topics ranging from drug discovery, to health services, to medical publishing.
  3. We hosted our inaugural Explore AI for Health event at Duke, focusing on research labs.
  4. We spoke at dozens of events on responsible AI across health services and life sciences.

Our 2025 Programs

AI Education at HBCUs

In partnership with UNC and two HBCUs (NC A&T and NCCU), we’re developing a standardized AI educational program for undergraduate and graduate students.

AI Skill Development Workshops

Hands-on workshops building critical thinking and technical skills for leveraging AI in healthcare. These sessions focus on collaboration across disciplines and practical AI applications.

The AI for Health Ontology

A living, plain-language ontology bridging the gap between health and technology professionals. This online resource will grow continuously, helping the AI and health communities collaborate more effectively.
